Kindergarten

Greetings parents and guardians of future Kaleidoscope Charter School kindergartners! We are excited for your student to join the KCS family in the Fall of 2025. Kindergarten is an exciting and important time in a student’s life as they will develop and grow many academic, social, and emotional skills that will lay the foundation for their K-12 journey.

At KCS we strive to form a partnership with parents and guardians to create a safe, caring, and cooperative environment where students learn through developmentally appropriate practices while showing respect for themselves, others, and their community.

Our caring and dedicated staff will create developmentally appropriate activities throughout the day to meet the varying needs and to optimize learning for all students in the areas of cognitive development, gross and fine motor skills, and social and emotional development.

Kindergarten Round Up Night

Families are invited to attend KCS Kindergarten Round Up on April 10, 2025 (5:00-6:30). This is a great opportunity to get inside your child's school and learn about the exciting opportunities that await kindergarten students.

KCS also offers a two-day Kindergarten Camp in August 2025.  More information will be coming about this opportunity.

Kindergarten is a time for...

  • growth and learning
  • hands on exploration
  • multi-sensory learning
  • family involvement
  • social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth
  • fostering a love of learning

Early Childhood Screening

Prior to your child starting kindergarten next fall, they will need to attend Early Childhood Screening in your home district.  Be on the lookout for information from your home district.

Early Childhood Screening is a free and simple check of how your child is developing and growing and consists of the following components:

  • Cognitive development
  • Large and small muscle development
  • Language and communication skills
  • Social and emotional development
  • Vision and hearing
  • Height and weight
  • Healthy history
  • Immunization review

This screening is NOT a pass or fail test. It is simply for us to have an insight on our incoming students.
