SHAPING THE FUTURE
KCS is embarking on an exciting journey to develop our next Strategic Plan.
We are using a custom approach to put stakeholder voices at the center of decision-making to honor the wisdom and experience of our entire community. A Core Planning Team, with the broad perspective of many stakeholders, will lead the work. Several opportunities will be available for all members of the KCS community to provide input and feedback.

CPT Meeting 2 Update - - Tuesday, April 7, 2026
The KCS CPT met for their second of three planning meetings on Tuesday, April 7. The group broke into small teams to discuss the Challenges and Opportunities facing KCS which provided a more focused, action-oriented framework for navigating the future.
The CPT also worked through KCS's Mission & Vision, focusing on how these reflect KCS's identity internally and externally, and define the school. Our DRAFT Mission Statement is: At KCS we create community while inspiring students to grow and develop curiosity for life and learning.
In preparation for the third meeting, the group will work on Core Values/Beliefs and Strategies where they will develop action plans to achieve the targeted strategies and actualize the mission.
The third CPT meeting will be on April 28 where the group will complete the draft elements of the strategic plan. The full strategic plan report will be written in May and reviewed by the CPT members before it is presented to the KCS School Board on June 25.

CPT Meeting 1 Update - - March 17, 2026
KCS picked a Core Planning Team (CPT) and they met for their first of four meetings on Tuesday, March 17. The CPT was introduced to the Strategic Plan process, the team created group norms, and discussed the data they reviewed prior to the first meeting which you can find here: KCS_DataBook_Introduction- STv 3-9-26.docx.
The CPT broke into small groups and discussed the Mission and Vision of KCS with reflection time shared out with the large group as to next steps in moving forward. The second meeting for the CPT will be on April 7.
