I have been teaching for 10 years, and have taught all grade levels from preschool through adults.  I have taught many subjects and love them all.  I will be teaching technology to grades 2 through 8 this year, so you will be able to find me in the computer lab.  In my free time I am busy with my family:  my husband, Randy, our daughter, Rylee, who is 7 and our son, Ryan, who is 5.  We live in Elk River and like spending time outside and cheering on the Vikings.  I also enjoy reading, cooking, and traveling.  I am so excited to start the school year, it’s going to be a great year!!

Mr. Ben Young (Music)

I have been a music teacher for over 15 years. Music is a very important part about being a balanced student.  It teaches creativity and brings challenges while allowing for great personal expression. Inspiring kids to be musical and appreciate music at an early age is my goal in the classroom.  I also want my students to benefit from learning the language of music. I also enjoy directing orchestra pits for musicals in various community theater productions around the northwest metro area. If my students can speak the language of music in some way, appreciate the importance of hard work, and have a better understanding of how music fits in their life and our world today, I feel I have succeeded in the classroom.
