Kaleidoscope Charter School has carefully selected math curriculum resources which teach the standards required by the state of Minnesota while also encouraging our students to explore how math concepts work.
Kaleidoscope Elementary School has adopted the Go Math! curriculum published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Go Math! is an engaging and interactive approach to math instruction. It also has electronic components which seamlessly supplement classroom instruction.
Kaleidoscope Middle School has adopted the Big Ideas math curriculum which is sold by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Big Ideas is a research-based program providing a rigorous, focused and coherent curriculum. This curriculum encourages students to apply the mathematical concepts they learn. Each skill is taught for two days. One of the days is focused on teaching the new skill while the next day students are asked to apply the skill to solve real world problems.
Kaleidoscope High School utilizes Houghton Mifflin Harcourt math curriculum. Most of the textbooks utilized are written by Ron Larson who was also the author of the Big Ideas math curriculum utilized at Kaleidoscope Middle School. This allows for a coherence between the programs and assures that there are no gaps created as students transition from one school to another.
