Hello, my name is Kelly Nichols. I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself so we can get to know each other better.  I have been living in Monticello the past five years and love the community.  I spend alot of my time with my husband and our pupppy.  We love going for walks in the neighborhood and watching movies at night.

In my spare time I love doing puzzles, reading books, playing games, and being outside.  Spending time with my family and friends is a high priority for me as well.  I have two younger sisters, who are my best friends, that I try to see as often as possible.  This past summer I have been busy with my new puppy, Sophia, and taking a coule trips to Duluth.

This is my fifth year here at Kaeidoscope and eighth year teaching.  I have loved making great connections with staff and families throughout the years and am excited to meet you as well.  Don't hesitate to stop in and say hi!

Hello, my name is Miss B and this is my fourth year teaching Kindergarten at KCS. Teaching is an absolute passion of mine and teaching Kindergarten is my DREAM job. It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my young students. To do this, I strive to teach with the same passion I want to see my students develop as they grow into lifelong learners. I truly cannot wait to see what this year has in store!

I would like to tell you a little bit about me and my life outside of the classroom. I lived in Monticello until I graduated high school in 2012. After that, I moved to Moorhead to attend Minnesota State University, Moorhead. I now live in Monticello again! I love spending as much time as possible with my family and dogs. :)

My hobbies include dancing, crafting and traveling. Along with teaching Kindergarten, I also teach dance. I started dancing when I was just 4 years old and I just can't stop yet. When my feet aren’t dancing, I can often be found surfing Pinterest in search of new projects to create for gifting or decorating my home and classroom. If I can't keep myself busy enough at home, I like to spend my time exploring new places as I travel and learn about the world we live in.

Working at KCS has brought some of the most amazing people into my life, starting with my wonderful Kindergarten team. I enjoy working with these passionate ladies daily and I look forward to all we have planned for this 2019/2020 school year. I am thrilled to continue to grow and connect with the families and students of KCS. If we have already met, stop in and say hi. I'd love to catch up! If we have never met, stop in and say hi. I can't wait to meet you!

My name is Mandy Ellingson.  I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.  I'm excited to be teaching Kindergarten again at Kaleidoscope this year.  This will be my third year at Kaleidoscope but my eigth year teaching.  I taught Kindergarten, 2nd Grade and Remediation at a Seven Hills Classical Academy, a charter school in Bloomington.  I also taught in Big Lake as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher.  I have had the opportunity to try out a few different levels and come to find out that Kindergarten is the best!!

I graduated from Minnesota State Univerity Moorhead with a degree in Elementary Education focusing on Preprimary Education.  I loved my time in Moohead and consider that my second home. Go Dragons!

I have been married to my High School Sweetheart Chad for ten years this past June. We lived in Lakeville for five years and in 2014 we moved up to Big Lake.  We just sold our house in Big Lake and moved just a couple miles away from school in Albertville!  We have a son, Danny, who is five years old and starting Kindergarten this year as well.  We are having our second child, a boy, the first week of September so we will be quite busy this year!  I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.  Most weekends you will find us hanging out up at our cabin fishing or boating.  I enjoy putting puzzles together, drinking coffee, going to movies and going to the park with Danny.

I look forward to our time together this year in Kindergarten, I will see all of you in January.  Ms. O'Neill will be teaching from the start of the year through December.  We will have a lot of opportunities to learn, we will learn how to be a good friend and ultimately HAVE FUN TOGETHER!!!

Mr. Ben Young (Music)

I have been a music teacher for over 15 years. Music is a very important part about being a balanced student.  It teaches creativity and brings challenges while allowing for great personal expression. Inspiring kids to be musical and appreciate music at an early age is my goal in the classroom.  I also want my students to benefit from learning the language of music. I also enjoy directing orchestra pits for musicals in various community theater productions around the northwest metro area. If my students can speak the language of music in some way, appreciate the importance of hard work, and have a better understanding of how music fits in their life and our world today, I feel I have succeeded in the classroom.
