Kaleidoscope Middle School - Building Community
Middle school students are not just bigger elementary students or smaller high school students. They are middle school students. Research shows that students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade face challenges on several fronts; physically, emotionally, socially, and academically. Our teachers have created a program that takes these growing steps into account. Our focus is on building community within the student body to help support the unique challenges faced by this age group.
Our sixth-grade programming is a fantastic bridge between our Elementary and Middle School models. The programming includes a Future City Project, a BizTown experience, and a Deep Portage Adventure Trip which all provide incredible learning opportunities both on and off campus.
Additionally, 80-minute core academic course times for 7th and 8th graders allow students to dig deeper into the content and receive more teacher-student time, to ask questions and gain a greater understanding of the subject.
Specials including Spanish, technology, music, art, and physical education give students exposure to a wide range of subjects and ideas.
