Now Accepting Applications for the '15/16 School Year
Kaleidoscope Charter School is a public charter school that is open to the public free of cost. Families wishing to enroll for the next school year must follow the enrollment process which is aligned with the Minnesota State Statutes regarding admission.
Enrollment Process and Lottery
On the first business day of February, KCS will hold a lottery drawing for Kindergarten and any grade with more applications than open positions. To be entered into the lottery, families must submit an application by 3:30pm on the last business day of January. The application will be posted on the KCS website on the first business day in December. A separate application must be completed for each student applying for enrollment. Students who currently attend KCS do not need to reapply for the following school year.
Initial waitlists are established during the annual lottery process, and families do not retain their position from the previous year’s waitlist. Families on a current waitlist must also submit an enrollment application, as they are not automatically included in the next year’s lottery. Following the lottery applications are processed in the order they are received.
As per Minnesota State Statute if a student has a sibling enrolled at KCS, they will receive a sibling preference. However, enrollment is not assumed for siblings. Siblings wishing to enroll at KCS must submit an enrollment application prior to the deadline. This includes siblings who will be incoming Kindergarten students.
Enrollment during the school year will follow the order of the waitlist. In the event that a waitlist does not exist for a specific grade, mid-year enrollment will occur on a first-come, first served basis.
Questions about the enrollment process can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org
